Japanese metalwork encompasses a broad range of techniques refined over centuries, from sword-making to decorative objects. Artists work with iron, copper, bronze, silver, and gold to create functional and sculptural pieces that demonstrate extraordinary technical control. Sakamoto Mitsuka brings expertise in forging, casting, chasing, and metal inlay to their practice.

As a Research Member of the Japan Kōgei Association, Sakamoto Mitsuka is actively developing their skills in traditional craft techniques under the guidance of master artisans. This membership recognizes emerging artists committed to learning and preserving Japan's traditional craft heritage.
