Member of the Japan Kogei Association, specializing in ceramics. Based in the West Japan region. Has 6 documented works in exhibitions.

The Art of Japanese Ceramics

Japanese ceramics encompasses a rich tradition spanning over 10,000 years, from ancient Jōmon pottery to refined tea ceremony wares. Each region of Japan has developed distinctive styles, clay bodies, and firing techniques that reflect local materials and aesthetic sensibilities. Shoumura Ken brings expertise in wheel-throwing, hand-building, glazing, and kiln-firing to their practice.

Research Member

As a Research Member of the Japan Kōgei Association, Shoumura Ken is actively developing their skills in traditional craft techniques under the guidance of master artisans. This membership recognizes emerging artists committed to learning and preserving Japan's traditional craft heritage.
